Dreams

I wish I could leave this job at the library, start my own business and make more money and time to travel and buy motorbike. The only problem is that I do not know where to start and what business to do? I sometimes feel it is a privilege to dream and make those dreams come true...

... you mean a secure union job with benefits, unlikely to ever go away bar some really severe pandemic or governmental crash? You want to give that up? A large percentage of businesses fail within 1-3 years. Not that it's a shot in the dark, but it is a gamble. And in 2020, it doesn't need to be one or the other, a union gig has you working what, 35-40 hours a week? maybe you're exempt, I dunno. The point is, as the Grateful Dead informed their audience, in a song somewhat disliked by their hippie audience,

"Keep your day job, don't give it away
Keep your day job, whatever they say
Keep your day job till your night job pays" (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5iFhI1bGELQ)

motor bike

Get the bike. Feel the freedom.
Brap brap!
Be inspired & discover the business idea (covid has changed the playing field-so new direction these days).
Hey, maybe motorcycle trips or tours?
Time travel...
I wish you luck on that one, but if you get back there somehow.
Tell me of the past to insist keeping the family home & leverage it to buy 5 more!
... & to get a motor bike earlier.

For the longest time, my only dream was to work in a library.

Good job, bad fit?

I spent the last half of my career life working in a municipal library, and it was the best place I've ever worked, after years of meaningless labour and attempts at self-employment. I went home at night knowing what I did all day benefited others. The pay was good and library staff are generally great people to work with, all community minded. But if you are restless, you must be in the wrong job or position for your personality type.

Goldwing

To keep the good karma flowing, check out the almost silent Goldwing bikes. They don't sound like backfiring delivery vans at 160 decibels.

I checked, the library pay was $30 an hour plus benefits.

Thank you all for your kind comments :)
The music 'keep your day job' indeed cheered me up !!
Yes, library people are good people but maybe I want to see more of the world.
