Laundry time

So the laundromat has been closed for almost 2 months, and I am reduced to washing underwear and socks in the sink. I keep thinking about my ancestors and how shitty it must have been for them doing laundry by hand all the time, before washing machines were invented. Things to be thankful for!

LOL at anyone daft enough to think they're going down in life by having to take care of themselves.

If there's one thing I know about rich people, they make sure their kids suffer a lot so when they grow up they won't be weaklings.

See people, this is how it's done. Yeah it sucks but in days past it sucked even more, so double down and get over yourselves.

Its's not so bad if you have a washboard and (indoor/outdoor) clothesline.

Ancestors?

Crap, I had an awful roommate just a few months ago that reduced me to hand washing clothes!

If you have the cash

buy a movable washing machine that has castors. I bought one for $300 years ago and it made my life much easier. You have to buy a drying rack but they're pretty cheap.

A little perspective is nice

Good post, I'm retired and I definitely have a new appreciation of things now.
My washer/dryer, my monthly pension cheque (Thank God!!), my exercise bands which were sitting in the back of my closet and now are being used every day, my Internet connection, my neighbours.

I feel similarly about my dishwasher. I think about how it takes like 20 seconds to clean a dish by hand whereas in the dishwasher it is blasted with hot water for two hours. I don't know that we need so many machines.

I always do the prep dishes and cutlery while food is cooking.
After dinner, it's plates, cutlery and maybe a couple pots.
Couple minutes.

Huh, I never thought about that. That sucks, man. I'd be doing the same thing if I had to, but my new place gives me my own full sized washer and dryer. Damn, I feel bad for the ones who can't wash their clothes. Damn.
