Blew It

Today I had this (seemingly) great plan to tell my crush I've been into him for a while. But then I forgot to bring along the baking I had made for him and chickened out. He's moving jobs and we won't really talk much going forward, so there's a good chance that was my last shot.
But hey, I guess next time I'll know to speak up sooner.

Don't chicken out. Pick up the phone.
It would have been better

without the baking -because that would have been too much, too soon.
Simply telling him you'd like to hang out & do something sometime would have been good enough.

you will never regret making a move, you will only regret not making the move.

Girls have chased boys for thousands of years using food.
This made me cringe

Presenting someone with baking and announcing a crush is a very bad idea. But as someone else said, saying you’d like to hang out is a great idea. I wish you could see how creepy the baking idea is. A hint for the future, if you are prone to wanting to make a spectacle, is to imagine someone doing whatever you think is romantic, to you. “Oh this guy I rarely talked to baked me a cake on my last day of work, now I have to carry this unasked for garbage home with me? What a weirdo. Why didn’t he just say he wanted to hang out later?”

Idk... I'd appreciate it if someone presented me with baking, but that's just me. Though I am someone who rarely attracts romantic attention, so my cringe/creep threshold may be higher than yours.
It's 2020

For decades women have been telling everyone that they can do anything a guy can.
So woman up.
"Going forward"

I hate this phrase; it seems very popular these days, unfortunately. How about "in the future"?
