Good to the last drop

I hate lineups, wearing gloves and masks when I go out. Still do the above but completely hate it. Since everything is hard to get, I’m consciously using up everything in my household so I can venture out less and spend less. Shampoo remnants as hand soap, soy sauce packets that have been lying around, Kraft Dinner macaroni (tossing the neon orange powder though), bread bags as trash bags, wearing mismatched socks because they still function as a pair, etc. Feels good to just use up everything that I have on hand. Not necessarily living off the land but living off what I already have inside my 500 sq ft.

wait hold up
let's focus on the macaroni
you buy macaroni and then don't consume the cheese packet?
what's the point of buying the macaroni
they sell it much cheaper WITHOUT the cheese
it's called pasta

I still have enough toilet paper to last into next year. Does that count?

I think OP means that they are using up an old box of KD from the back of the cupboard (sans the cheese) rather than buying and eating from a new bag of pasta.

That way, OP minimizes exposure to COVID world and makes use of what is already on hand. And seriously, fuck that neon cheese.

There is a real feeling of accomplishment in using everything up isn't there?
I'm the same way, it's like you're making your small space a little bigger each time you finish something.

Though i like the anonymity of masks and to avoid lineups i've gone early. But my diet's mainly fresh produce, so have to go out weekly.

What

Jun 13, 2020 at 3:02pm

is so bad about wearing a mask and gloves? I just keep a mask in my pocket and put it on when entering a store or bus. Waiting isnt great but its just the new normal. BE patient. Be mature.

Good for you! This is how some people used to live pre-Covid 19.

How many things did we spend money on that that weren't truly necessary?

I'm hoping we will come out of this with a better perspective on so many things....
