One considerate man asked if he should wait for the next elevator, when the doors opened and he saw me inside. I liked the fact that he let me decide. However, the others in the building are fucking annoying; I was in first, then two additional households came into the elevator. I was the only mask wearer. I’d rather take the stairs than be anywhere near these risk-takers.

Confront them about it then. It's good therapy. Tell them that you have one kidney :)

If I lived by waiting for the elevator to be empty I’d never get upstairs because someone is usually almost always in it from the parking levels, I can’t wait for every elevator to pass me by.

In my condo building I won’t get into an elevator if someone else is in it, and my neighbours look at me like I’m crazy. I’m one of those people who’s not only at high risk myself, but I also have very elderly parents and others in my family who are immune compromised. It’s my responsibility to try to be as safe as I can for everyone concerned, including total strangers in case I’m infected but don’t know it. Educate yourselves people!

You're complaining about people cramming into a room with clearly defined space. Usually 6ft by 4 ft. You already know with any more than 2 people, it becomes impossible to maintain the space required. There's always the stairs option, but I'm guessing you're there to enjoy the same convenience as everyone else.
