My Gf Left Me During Covid

This began a spiral that ended my relationship and subsequently my old life. Sometimes I miss her but I know that right now I am the best version I have ever been. I still struggle like everyone else and have off days but god damnit when adversity strikes I just seem to have a knack for picking myself up, dusting off, and reincarnating myself. The only thing I am still upset about sometimes is that she dumped me over the phone. I may be a lot of things but I never deserved that. I suppose everything is exactly as it is meant to be in the end.

Sorry but I’ve never understood this attitude that you must break up with someone in person. Sometimes that’s just not possible. What if you know the person is likely to have a violent or crazy reaction? What if you’ve had a history with them where you know that it won’t matter what you say, they’ll never get it anyway? What if you’re a distance away? What if you can’t see them because there’s a PANDEMIC? So what if they break up with you on the phone or even by text? A break up is a breakup, regardless of how the other person communicates it. Btw, I’ve had my share of breakups and I don’t care how it was done because the end result was the same.

Forget about getting dumped on a phone. Females deserve to be as ruthless as possible when they want to drop someone and the person just has to live with it.

So many bitter fools out there, it's not even funny, so don't end up like a fool move on.

Perhaps you would rather catch her cheating on you.

It is awesome that you have the capacity to rise up stronger than before after you've been knocked down. Sounds like you have a good attitude and are passing these tests that the universe is throwing at all of us with flying colours. Keep it up!

Now you're free. Pick yourself up and dust yourself off and choose life.

its a cowardly way to break it off with someone. blitzkreig warfare. and theres alot of people who will just say that they are afraid of a violent or nasty reaction, just to justify going about it that way.

The OPs point is that *they* are hurt by the way they were broken up with. This is about them, not you. Don’t invalidate their feelings just because you personally wouldn’t care about getting dumped over the phone. Have some compassion for god’s sake. And @OP - I’ve been dumped over the phone; I understand how it feels. Hang in there.

Always helpful to know someone is sh*ttier, and more selfish and cowardly, than you thought them to be. True and relevant information, freely given.
Kindness, in a way. Now you know that to them, this is OK. And worse, they rationalized and validated it. Much as they'll likely do with anything else.
The longer you're around them, the more beastly, self-serving behavior you'll see. So, win.
Avoid.

I have had women break up with me on the phone. I have never had a woman break up with me via text that seems ruthless. I think that I take the cake for break ups though. When I was 17 my girlfriend dumped me on Feb 13 so that she could date another guy for Valentine's Day. I have hated that holiday ever since. Now that was vicious behavior on her part.

I didn’t say he couldn’t be hurt. I have a right to my opinion just like you do. That’s the point of allowing comments on this site! So let me put it like this...your significant other makes arrangements to see you. Your looking forward to it. Maybe you even travel to their place or you get dressed up nicely to go somewhere, whatever it might be. You make effort in other words. Then you get there and they dump you in person. Is that really better? Those people who do it in a public place are the worst! How would you feel sitting in a restaurant or something and having them dump you and you have to try to hold it together or be humiliated in public? I think that’s absolutely shitty. I see nothing at all wrong with breaking up with someone by phone.
