Outta Control

My drinking has gotten so bad. I’m hungover to the point I can’t leave my bed most days. The sunny days are the worst because all I want to do is get some sunshine in my life. What am I doing? As soon as the hangover passes I just feel like drinking again. There has got to be more to life than this.

I feel you. If you like beer, drink near beer. Heineken zero tastes like the real thing. If you like wine, drink Concordia grape juice. If you like highballs, get a sodasteam and mix you like. You got this. I'm 2 weeks sober and I hate it but love it, you feel me?

I would be able to stop if I was allowed to go back to work.

You're very likely going to need a counselor or some such. There's usually a reason for addiction. Sorry you're hurting. Reading up on the seeking safety model may also be helpful - a trauma informed approach to addiction.
Dumpster Guide

You will see your way out of this. You will see the days get better. The dumps, the depression, the habits, are a familiar place. You aren't to be blamed for wanting the familiar.
You will move from the familiar, to the new and better as long as you're alive.
It's your choice, every day, every second, to let yourself move to that better place.
Trust me, you can do it. And you will.
Love yourself, and let it happen slow. Don't rush and get down on yourself for the lack of speed. That's a trap. Life is not linear.
Just go <3
