Reading.

During the lockdown I had time to read two novels. One was Dune by Frank Herbert. The other was the Irishman by Charles Brandt. They were both really good. I had the time so I read. I wish that I had read more books. I wonder if anyone else read during the lockdown?

I've heard about those things, and I seem to recall being forced to read a few back in high school. Now I solely use the internet to fill my mind with visuals and instill it with the correct opinions of the day.

Haven't at all during the quarantine for some reason, can't focus. But I have an old, original copy of the Irishman left behind by the ancestors. Maybe I should actually read it .

that you are posting this says a lot about the world today and how reading an actual book is an accomplishment.
I've been reading my entire life, more so now than ever.
This isn't a criticism, just an expression of wonder that today's Youtube, social media obsessed society has forgotten what a complete joy it is to bury yourseld in an awesome novel.

Paulo Coelho. He's written about a dozen books and they are all good but the two greatest for me (and about 40 million other readers) are: 'The Alchemist' and 'By the River Piedro I Sat Down and Wept.' ................. enjoy

I have plenty of unread books that I’ve been waiting to read, and with all this free time I have I should but I can’t. I can’t focus. So worried about finances, work, health... that when I sit to try and read I can’t get past a page before my mind wanders and worry takes over.
Well um...

I read The God of Small Things by Arundhati Roy.
The prose is beautifully written.

I’m the same way right now. There is too much collective angst in the Universe , and it really can discombobulate me.
