Stanley Park without cars was awesome...

Been riding my bike in Stanley Park regularly since March when they banned car traffic. I went for a ride yesterday and was so disappointed to see all the cars driving through again... I was enjoying the quieter version of the park which required you to actually walk or ride a bike to reach some areas of the park. I suppose those with less mobility can enjoy the park again and that is totally fair but something deep down irks me to see the return of vehicles...

It was a huge loss to cyclists to be kicked off of the Stanley Park Seawall. They should be outraged to lose the best cycling path in BC.
If you build it, they will come.

They need to park in those spaces, or they will park all through the west end. A car free downtown Vancouver is a dream of mine. Build a subway. If you build it, they will come.
It was nice and peaceful down by the river

A few weeks ago. But the boats have returned since and so much for that. Things seem to be getting back to normal- ok to be a typical douche bucket once more
Oh well

I was enjoying a quieter city when COVID fears were running high and everyone was indoors. What you gonna do?
Ugh

Poor you, lost a temporary privilege in favour of access for all - which you even recognize! Acknowledging it's for accessibility and then still persisting with your privilege is a very dated look. Here in the 21st C, we are working on shutting up when we know it's about someone else's basic rights versus our privilege.
You know what?

Roads were built for cars, not to placate YOUR selfish desire to accommodate bicycles only. Rage in silence.
