Stop blaming teachers!

Whenever someone laments the dire state of education, they almost inevitably point the finger of blame at teachers, despite the fact that the majority of teachers are dedicated professionals who genuinely care about the young people in their charge. There are bad teachers, teachers who don't care, but they are the exceptions. Look higher up to see the true cause of the decline in education standards, at those who make a career out of education: the bureaucrats – including too many principals – and politicians. You will find a higher proportion of individuals who care more about themselves and their career advancement, than they do about teaching and the welfare of our young people amongst that lot; though, again, it is just a proportion of the total who are useless, or worse.

Try to ignore the thumbs. It's totally baffling. It's got to be one of the worst jobs going. There is little support from your employer (just more and more demands, no respect ). There is little support from the public (what is that, they're teachers!?) And how about all that unpaid extra work that's expected? (wtf). Now they are dealing with COVID restrictions and kids! Oh dear gawd. I couldn't do it.

We don’t blame teachers. It’s 100% the governments fault for not valuing education. We will hand out CERB at 2k a pop to international students that arnt even citizens. They don’t even have to prove they have a visa. If they go back to their home country we have no way to collect. Our own kids and education? Not valuable.
