Too close to home

On my social media today everybody was talking about America but no-one would touch alcoholism. Day 11 sober if anyone cares.

Meaning you, of course.
If you want to find a recovery community that cares, hellosundaymorning.org has been helping people connect and recover, for years. At a distance, too - they're out of Oz, where the legendary drinking culture makes Canadians look like pikers.

"Social" media is more like a superbug-transmitted, chronic disease that sells you things. If you ain't drinking, you ain't paying, so what good are you to them?
Quick, go order something online, chop chop. Be a good little consumerist drone. Jump-start the economy and sh*t.

Quitting smoking was harder. I don't know why cigarettes and God are such cornerstones of AA

COVID is keeping me sober.
I was probably an alcoholic expat a few years ago.
My drink of choice was beer.
Then I got an allergy to wheat and barley...
So that made quitting 'easy'.
Was expecting to fly home this summer and drink a ton of gluten free beer to make up for my 2 years of sobriety.
But that's not happening now.
Silver lining, abs are nice to have.
And the more money saved the better right?

Not everyone's life in the world is affected by alcoholism every hour of every day. Different people have different problems, and some more common than yours.
