Beverley

I MUST CONFESS: I have never really liked Margaret Attwood as a person, and her voice sends shudders throughout my body. I feel vaguely un-canadian about this but it does feel good to get it off my chest.

I like her but I appreciate your candor. These days because she wrote A Handmade's Tale, she's put on the pedestal like she's an oracle. It should have remained true to the book and been a miniseries, but it's just like Hollywood to try to flog 6 or 8 seasons out of something. Anyways, good confession.

Fascinating that someone who can't even spell her name thinks their opinion about her should matter.

She is better than you

In every way possible. Plus she likes free speech. Isn’t that the real reason you’re posting your cancel culture smut?

I don’t think the Op said her opinion should matter. I love the confession because it speaks to the idea that the idol-like reputation of Margaret Atwood makes her feel guilty for not liking her. Almost like someone might feel if they admitted to not liking Gord Downey or something. Not to mention that this is a CONFESSION site, as you seem to have forgotten. Not that your opinion matters.

Sure she could care less what a semi-literate brain trust such as yourself thinks about her.

Are you a neighbour or acquaintance?

@ Beverly.. sounds like you know her on a personal level as your post is not referencing any of her works or those based on her writing. Perhaps there’s something that we, the general public, are unaware of about her as a person?
