Floater

I’m friends with a vast number of people. And I discovered that these people are all linked on social media, and they completely talk shit about each other behind their backs! Just because you “follow” or are “friends” with someone does not mean a thing. A male was ridiculing a video posted by a female to me. Another female was sending screenshots of another female’s posts and laughing at them. I absolutely do not trust these people. They might “like” what I post but the chances are high that they’re laughing at me too. There is so much jealousy too. If I post something, people will try and bring the attention back to themselves on an unrelated matter. Such a quagmire, this social media thing. It’s probably one of the most constraining things out there.

Are we a lost cause?

Isn't is pathetic? Adults, ADULTS, who spend several hours a day gossiping, backstabbing, turning people against one another and former coalitions to alienate someone. The human race really is its own worst enemy.

Maybe species deserves to die off? We're well overdue for a leap in evolution because we're the only species that rapes the planet; rapes each other; and calls it fun. We sh#t in our own nest, treats the place like a gigantic dumping ground, make endless war, put greed and profits above all else, invents endless stupidstitions and fantasies, elevates celebrities and idiots to places of prominence and prestige, tears the guts out of the earth, devour our young and deride our old, and declare ourselves gods of every domain and living thing.

The species is seriously f#cked.

Frenemy territory

Thanks for this confession. I'm sure many of us can relate.

I think it's pretty clear by now that social media has been strategically designed to turn people against each other and trigger envy, all the while keeping us addicted to validation and lost in a constant cycle of striving for one-upmanship. Almost like a video game, except that we are both the players and the played.

You're only learning this now?

Years ago the fact of "six degrees of separation" became grossly obvious through Facebook.
It was disturbing and felt almost incestuous. I liked keeping my different groups separate.

They’re not friends

Just because you have someone linked to your social media doesn’t mean they’re actually your friend. FB uses that term but it’s not reality. Unless you’re truly a friend of these people, just delete them if what they’re doing is offensive to you.

I Hear You

Everyone seems to be two faced. It’s pretty gross.

You can't pick your friends

No wait, you can totally pick your friends! It sounds like you found some pretty crappy ones, you should remove them from your life if you don't trust them.
