Food truck feel

I personally don't like the food trucks downtown. They're expensive anyways and the food isn't that good. Why can't we have some real cheap but good lunch spots downtown? Oh yeah! Real estate prices! So... are the super expensive restaurants that we cannot afford on CERB? Will their mortgages be delayed? Ohhh yeah, baby! We won't be able to get cheaper places in there, even if that's what the market demands. Rigged system for rich people.

I live downtown and really wish there was more affordable, unpretentious food for working stiffs like me. Im not rich or hot, and I don't drink. So I have no desire to hang out at fancy places that focus more on decor than food. Give me a cheap noodle joint, greasy dinner, a TACO truck but please NOT another vegan restaurant/fashion show.

Food trucks

While it’s a bummer they are hurting like so many other businesses, the last thing I want to do is eat in a public place standing up or making a mess with food all over my lap on a piece in concrete downtown. Never got into it, will never get into it, and yes it’s too much $ for the experience. I’m saving my money for bigger purposes.

Food trucks are bullshit. Small portions of overpriced food. A lot of people aren't very bright and they're easily duped by novelty, so they flock to these dumb trucks and waste money on this crap while convincing themselves they're getting something unique and gourmet.

Eating 8 dollar grilled cheese sandwiches on a cement block is not my idea of good eating.

That's what passes for sophistication in Vancouver. Six dollars for pourover coffee is another favourite with the sheople.

I’ve never eaten off a Food Truck. They charge you as much as a restaurant for a small serving of food, yet provide you with no seating or a washroom. The owner will claim it is so expensive to outfit a truck. Well, a real restaurant owner has the same expenses, if not more, to build a restaurant AND pays a monthly lease to provide seating, washrooms, comfort from the outdoor elements. Food trucks are grossly overpriced and people are dumb enough to stand in a line and ask for it. Enjoy your expensive food while you have to stand around to eat it. Lol

Had all those food trucks. One had a small piece of waffles, with a dab of butter and syrup, for $6.
Total cost to make was maybe 12 cents...

I work around Library Square. I like cheap good eats too.

VCC is a staple - sure they are hit and miss beginner cooks, but they are getting marked, and it's quite a good deal.

Dae Ji Cutlet House - indifferent service but extremely filling, savoury schnitzel-type pork and chicken dishes with rice, kimchi, gravy or curry, cheese if you like that, and shredded cabbage.

Super Chef Grill - an ideal hole in the wall Chinese (mainly) stirfry joint

Wakwak Burger - yes it is a food truck but it is truly affordable and deliciously prepared stuff
