I am a guy who loves doing laundry

It's maybe a bit bizarre, but it fascinates me. If I go out drinking and have cigarettes or spill something smelly and bad like beer on myself, I can simply throw detergent and clothing in the washing machine and it magically gets the worst of odours and filth out of my clothing. I just love it so frickin' much. I can be a boy-- or a man or whatever-- and there are hardly any repercussions to my outfit. I feel like 100 bucks the next day. It's just so simple too. It requires zero effort. It amazes me how other grown men are unable to do something as simple as the laundry. Poor female companions.

Most things...

... are easy to do, the question is how people are trained to do them when young. I have done my own laundry since I was shown how to do it at 10 years old or so. Because I could do it on my own, without being screamed at, I continued to do it. Cooking, on the other hand, I was screamed at, told I was making a mess, etc. So, there are issues there.

A lot of these things have to do with overbearing mothers more than anything else, the myth of the "lazy man" is just a TV stereotype.

I got my laundry running now and love the smell of my tide pods. Your "idea" of other men is offensively flawed and likely why you assume we can't or do not enjoy doing laundry or cleaning.

Really, do you think you're the only male who can do their own laundry? Pull your head out of your ass.

I have been a much better cook than all my girlfriends, as have pretty much all my guy friends than theirs.
Every girlfriend has also had a filthy car with no maintenance done, I've been neater around the house, and had better finances and credit rating than all of them.
So does that automatically mean all women in all the world are poor cooks, lousy car owners, broke and filthy?

Don't be silly. My girlfriend wouldn't be happy unless she can complain about how useless I am at housework.

I've got too many clothes with oil stains that don't come out in the wash. I've also got linens with blood stains that seem to be there permanently.

Lol. Actually no, I’m quite capable of taking care of everything on my own. Stereotypes aren’t helpful because they’re just that. I’ve known guys who have been catered to by women for their entire lives, so they act like they’re incapable of doing basic household tasks. Including the ones who believe they’re fantastic cooks, but are somehow unable to comprehend how to clean up after themselves. They act like they’re some type of god just because they can cook a meal. On the other hand, I can do it all. I can cook, clean, do laundry, earn a great income, decorate my own place, fo all of my own business, etc. Do I fix my own car? No, but neither do most of them. Do I do my own wiring and plumbing? Sometimes, but neither do most of them. In other words, anyone who uses the excuse of “my mommy ruined me for that”, is doing just that: making an excuse for not doing something that they’re perfectly capable of doing for themselves. Manchildren! (Or womanchild, same thing.)

@Shoes - add vinegar to your wash for your smelly sneakers. A half cup, or more if you have a big machine.

@Anon - hydrongen peroxide and let it sit for the blood (be careful, may also lift colour). If really old stains, lemon juice may also help lighten (but again may harm colour). For those oil stains, you want to put a drop of dish soap on each and let it sit. The sooner after the oil spill the better though. If they've sat long, there's a dry cleaning cleaner you can get at most drug stores.

Happy laundry!
