Christopher Hitchens could come back and tell us what the afterlife is like.

Christopher Hitchens was atheist. Maybe you should google the definition of what it is to be an atheist.

He didn't believe in that. I own his "Portable Atheist".
Miss him terribly. Glad he's not alive to watch the sorry trash fire of expectations, vanities, delusions, bigotry, greed and lies, that the world has become.
Hitch was a great and passionate humanist and optimist. Seeing such self-inflicted slow-motion catastrophe would be pretty soul-destroying for him.
Better this way.
Besides, I care nothing for the hereafter. Plenty of time to deal with that, in the event. Sufficient to the reality are the problems thereof.

I have read all his books - I'm familiar with his beliefs. I just wonder if he ended up seeing something.

From my understanding his atheist arrogance should finally be rewarded by either waking up in a dark purgatory awaiting final judgement, or else he simply dies like an animal and no one ever thinks about him ever again.
The afterlife is all around

But mostly in the ground. I would like as much as you to believe our lives are about more than enriching the soil but life on and in Earth is what it is.
That would be hilarious

I want him back for his take on the illiberalism of the excessively woke, but hearing his take on the afterlife would be good fun for reasons already articulated. It would also bring him and Peter closer

You sound like a darkly horrible person. Hitch was a kind, loving man. Let's have both of you report back.

How cruel. You must be a one of those nasty hypocritical Christian that claim to of read the bible.
But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be children of your father in heaven.
Ring any bells? As an atheist I've never met so many hypocrites as Christians. At least atheists don't pretend to be something they're not.
No one really knows what happens.

How can one argue that what they believe will actually happen. Hitchens would give an objective account as one who wasn't already predisposed to a certain way of imagining it.
