Im just thinking this through

If a plastic bottle takes 450 years to biodegrade, that isn’t so bad. 450 years and, poof, things are back to normal again. Only 10-20 years for plastic bags. I thought it was going to be longer. Seriously. If we stop mass logging and fishing for 80 years or so, I think the world could fix itself. No idea about nuclear waste though. It seems to last way too long to fix.

After we are no longer practicing our vandalism, the world will repair itself. But it will be a less rich, less varied world because of all the species being driven to extinction. Give it a hundred million years or so, and the diversity will have returned. Sad to think of a world without elephants, tigers, polar bears, chimpanzees, gorillas, gibbons, rhinos, pandas, and untold numbers of less charismatic species.

You forgot dinosaurs. Too bad those won’t come back too.

... is fine. It's all what's going on in your head that is the problem. I mean, the context to all of this is that this sort of "resource" narrative is being used to justify making reproduction economically infeasible for thousands of Canadians born in the 1980s. But hey, their parents already got to reproduce, why should they.
Think about this a little more

It seems that you may be forgetting about the massive impact that is happening RIGHT NOW to our present ecosystems and wildlife. Sure, possibly in an eon from now those things may finally biodegrade. However, in the meantime life as we know it now, including countless numbers of species and ecosystems, will be completely destroyed or will be colossally decimated. That’s not something that we can afford to ignore, if we care whatsoever for following generations.

and speaking as someone who has eaten ostrich I'm glad they're gone. Apparently we're always eating microplastics, in credit card per year portions.
Plastic does NOT biodegrade

It just breaks down into smaller pieces of plastic.

Mount Vesuvius or Yellowstone will blow... George Carlin said it best. Humans are fleas... what good is a solar panel in an ash cloud? Even wonder why your iPhone battery dies so easily when it’s freezing out? But But but fossil fuels are evil! Lol Grow up
