Is it?

I'm always surprised when people are surprised that politicians are corrupt. How are these 'scandals' news? It's no surprise that you have to step on people to get to the top of the pile.

Don't tread on me

Sorry pal, but if you think you have to step on anyone to get to the top then you don't belong at the top, and anyone that thinks like that is exactly what's wrong with this world.

The same goes for corporate management. The higher you are in an organization, the more fraud, corruption, and out-right dirty deeds you've managed to get away with.

ME charity. As someone with mental illness... I knew years ago the money wasn’t being used for mental wellness. Prevention prevention... once the dog goes mad... there’s no going back. You can sedate it all you want. You haven’t stopped the timer. Tick tock. Uh oh... it’s already too late.

And further to the original post, I am shocked / not shocked how people only see the corruption with the politicians they hold an opposing view to, but either give a pass to, or can honestly not see the ones they support are literally no different.

I wonder if it’s something they truly believe or if they do see it but just choose to ignore it?

I will go one step further and say that sadism, cynicism, human despising attitudes are a way to success when they should be the most egregious criminal offenses in our legal codex and or shown as what they are: the most egregious mental illnesses

@Don't tread on me - I'm not. I don't believe that's the way to the top, nor do I have any interest in stepping on anyone. Prixing 'the top' in my mind is like saying that capitalist 'progress' is progressive. The top is not the top, in my mind. Just saying - politicians, corporations, etc. are all run by narcissists and are rewarded by the masses mindlessly thinking they got there by 'hard work' or some other bullshit, who are then 'shocked' to find out that won't, in fact, get you where you want to be.

To the top

Should just be you giving someone a boost and someone giving you a hand up when opportunities arise. Just a matter of honorable vs dishonorable behavior.
