It's a bit weird but....

I kind of feel like the rest of the world has finally come around to my way of thinking. I've been agoraphobic for a couple of years now. I developed a full-on social phobia because I kept getting injured by other people's carelessness - having things dropped on my head, being bashed in the face by people's backpacks on buses, etc. The "treatment" was to go out more and let other people get close to me. Ha! Maybe I'm getting the last laugh. Other people ARE hazardous to my health...

Many sensitive ppl feel this way, problem is the more ppl feel this way does not make it much better, only more ppl vying to get treatment and fewer resources for this with the authorities.

Yeah, the world has caught up to you, because you're just so incredibly important. The people in this city is most deluded, self-absorbed bores I've ever met in my life. I feel for those with anxiety issues, but in Vancouver everyone within five metres has to know about it. There's always some drama attached to it. A train or bus is a crowded space, and Vancouver is becoming increasingly crowed. Maybe it's time to move to the countryside for many of these people?

*eye roll*...And yet another Vancouver basher. I love your suggestion about moving; please get on that immediately. If enough of you that seem to hate my hometown so much would move back to wherever you came from or wherever you think is better, life here could finally get back to being the beautiful and peaceful place I grew up in.

The point I was trying to make in my original post was that maybe some people who have been diagnosed as "mentally ill" are just unusually sensitive to the environment and it takes something like a pandemic to make the majority feel the same fear and uncertainty that we experience all the time. I don't think that is deluded or self-absorbed, just an observation. But you just carry on minimizing anxiety "issues" and trying to make everyone who bores you disappear.

Nope. Not a poodle. Disabled. In a wheelchair. People are careless. And insensitive as well, clearly.

What you are actually saying is “I am giving myself permission to hide so I don’t have to do the difficult work of changing.”
