My friends live in fear of covid

They are sort of getting annoying about it though. They hardly leave their houses at all. They stream stuff online... They are afraid of going outside with others. It's so sad. It's summer too. These people will go insane during winter when the pandemic actually becomes bad.

What are you missing?

Do you live under a rock or something? Have you not been paying attention? Obviously your friends are a lot smarter than you are, because they realize that the only way to AVOID a big spike in cases is to continue to avoid other people! Give your head a shake!

I hate to tell you this.

But I have a few friends that think this what I do.

The person in my life I tell this to goes out "living their life" all over the place. If anyone will catch Covid, it will be her. trips, dating, bars.

So I tell her I'm just staying in and away from people. The actual truth is, I'm staying far far away from her. I have lost a lot of respect for her blatant disrespect for a virus that could kill her. So if she is not worried about herself, she's not going to be worried about others. So when I do socialize and go out, it's with other people in my bubble, that she doesn't even know about.

It's thanks for people like your friends that we have had such low numbers here in B.C, and the chance for re-opening. But behaviours and comments like yours are what's causing the numbers to go back up. We've all been through the awful shut down. Let's do things responsibly so we don't have to do it again. Let's not criticize those who are being extra cautious, wearing masks, etc. They're helping all of us!

So your friends are taking the pandemic seriously and are taking steps to minimize their risk. Perhaps they're at higher risk of severe illness if they become infected, or perhaps they have household members who are? Or maybe they just don't want to chance getting something that could kill or disable them...
