Oat Racket

Every company is so excited they make Oat Milk now because it's the biggest racket since that overpricing bread scandal. It costs like 25 cents to make it at home, less with corporate bulk discounts. Please don't buy it! It drives me insane! I'm going to start yelling in the grocery store isles if I see any more. Blend a cup of oats with 4 cups of water and drain it, add some vanilla & dates if you want, and you're done. Let's all use our brains.

Rice milk,almond milk etc.
Cheap blenders will work, and the Vitamix is king but they cost $500 plus. Can Tire has a Vitamix clone for $200 but every now and then they have them on sale for $80.
Same thing with the juice stores, $8 for a glass. Is $80 for a Jack Lalane juicer, use it 10 times and it's paid off.

It’s atrociously overpriced. 4$!? For some Fucking oats and water. Worst part is it’s marketed as healthy. That shit has 1/3 more sugar in it than milk (this is the ‘unsweetened natural’). Has vegans chasing the dragon all day.

I would prefer to buy it and support the companies and employees and their families, and would hope for them in turn to support my company by consuming the products and services we provide.

To each their own of course.

There are suckers that will pay ridiculous money no matter what it is you're selling. They aren't buying the actual product, they're buying the story you're telling.

It's a nice delicious treat when it comes on sale.

But come on, how about all you freaks buying and drinking milk that comes from another living being? Weirdos.

Yes, the craze to avoid any type of wheat product has risen to new heights. The so-called “clean” diet. What an amazing bit of marketing genius! Convince people that they’re unclean if they’re not spending outrageous amounts of money to buy almond flour (for example) at $15 for a tiny bag, instead of wheat flour at $6 for a big enough bag to actually bake more than once. Some of the people I know who are brainwashed into this racket are also heavy smokers and are otherwise very unhealthy. I guess it’s their choice though, if it makes them happy then it’s none of my business. It sure makes it hard to eat out with them or have them to my place for dinner! I can’t afford to spend $30 just for the basic ingredients to make a meal for them.

Here's a tip

Yes, there are people out there that are gluten intolerant and that's fine but for the rest of us, it's not an issue although marketing would have you believe otherwise. Here's something: I used to eat store bought slow cook oats for breakfast in the hopes it would lower my blood sugar (diabetes II). Nope. Awhile back due to the run on flour because of the pandemic, I ended up buying whole grain oats and other grains from Fieldstone Grainary in Armstrong - western grown, organic, nonGMO, pesticide free. Yes, it's expensive, yes it takes time to prepare but not a big effort. Steam mixed grains (oats, buck wheat, rye, spelt) in your InstantPot, cool, grind up in your blender or flatten the grains with a rolling pin (rolled oats). I freeze what I don't need right away for next time. Cook up the next morning with milk or water, dried or fresh fruits, whatever. I have found my blood sugars have dropped by several points, reduced the insulin. 1 cup of their white soft wheat gives you 50% of your daily iron. You don't need to eat near as much to feel satisfied and you're getting HUGE nutrition. No empty calories. Easy on the digestive tract. The baked bread is to die for. We have been SO RIPPED OFF with commercial cheap brand flours. Because of this I have found it health and cost efficient and I ain't goin' back to regular oatmeal and CERTAINLY NOT "oat milk" whatever the eff that is.
