At last!

So I read that Translink is making it mandatory for everyone to wear masks on the buses and skytrain come August 24th. Finally! Why did it take Translink so damn long to take this issue seriously? We are in still in the middle of a serious pandemic and the virus is not going away anytime soon. I’m glad action is being taken because I for one am fed up of disgusting, careless people standing so close to me, breathing down my neck . Either put your mask on or do not take transit at all.

Since the announcement. My question is if someone is a regular transit user why not get a mask and wear it now? Even if someone isn't, but they know they will likely use transit in the near future, why wait? Waiting until it's actually mandatory just doesn't make any sense to me.

Yup, really

How many months later.
It took too long.
But most people taking transit are lower income and more likely to be dehumanized by the same institutions that are supposed to be supporting them.

We have that here. Most people won't comply. Have fun with the idiots.

Vulnerable die first without making it too obvious. Like more people are dying of drug abuse but they turn a blind eye... only the rich are worth saving ...

I wonder if any of the homeless people on Hastings will care at all.

Not going to happen

Do you really think that most transit users will wear masks? Do you really think that they will refuse entry to non-mask wearers? What you see now will be what you see after August 24th. Only more transit users.

Reality Check

Paying for your transit ride is also mandatory. How's the enforcement on THAT going?

that isnt really thou the only issue, i started walking to work over a year ago becuase half the ppl on the bus dont either shower or do their laundry so it just reeks all the time. practicing decent cleanliness in vancouver seems to be a forgotten art.
