Caregiver burnout

I look after a family member with an illness, who lives with me. We're both adults. Since the pandemic, I've been unable to do the activities that kept me cheerful and spending a few hours with others. When I go out on my own, I admit I sometimes don't feel like coming back home. That is my confessions.

It is hard but keep up the amazing work. I don't have much else I can say. They support you too :) Hold in there. Find some time to yourself somehow... even if it is almost impossible.

what would be your best case scenario. Person you are looking after going into a care home ? Another care giver coming in, giving you a few days respite per month? etc.

Good on you

for holding on to what really matters in these increasing 'Brave New World' times of the erasure of family and community. You are swimming against the current but hey; where would the salmon nation be without swimming against the current.

I’m looking after my dying father and some days are harder then others. One day he won’t be here and I’ll have time to myself again but now we sit and I listen to stories I’ve never heard before as he talks about the good old days. It’s hard work but better that us kids are there for them. Please hang in there and get any help for yourself that you can.
