I am sort of worried about the future

I just read about an 83 year old cleaning buildings to help support herself... Not in Canada... yet. The way things are going-- with how much less our money can buy us today-- and how much we work to support ourselves certainly makes me worried. Same in the US. I think we will actually deal with poverty here and the social safety net we have will burst due to our debt and politics.

I recently read one about an 80-something year old woman cleaning buildings in the country I'm an expat in. But she isn't a citizen... so if that was the story you are referring to, I wouldn't say it's representative of how the citizens are living. That said, I live in a palm tree, swimming pool bubble, so I really don't know.
I remember

I can remember a marketing campaign called 'Freedom 55'. It promoted the idea that you could retire at age 55 and live the life you always wanted to live without any financial worries until you died. It seems that it's been tweeked a little, and now they call it 'Freedom 88'.

Seniors on government pensions in Canada get more money to live on than I do as a disabled 30-something. So I guess I've got something to look forward to if I somehow manage to live that long?
Me too

I think we will see more extreme poverty in the coming years then we've seen in our lifetime. I'm worried too.
Generation now

There's not enough of this and the previous generation to support the upcoming seniors that is why there needs to be more people either as citizens or immigrants to fullfill their needs.
Here we go

And last week, I posted here that you have to stop making excuses and educate yourself, work hard, work smart, and not waste money on crap. So as to have lots of money invested and saved up so to have a better life.
And was about 90% thumbs down.
Hmmmm
You should be worried

We have an enormous amount of debt (Trillion) While Justin Trudeau cripples Canada's biggest revenue stream (Oil & Gas).
Terrible leadership doesn't manifest itself instantaneously, it takes years to trick down. When we as voters put more care towards virtue signalling than we due economic stewardship -- We got a problem.
Argentina used to be an economic powerhouse - through bad leadership it fell apart and experienced hyper inflation - and that wasnt too long ago.

We've got trillions of future inhabitable planets (although the number trillions may be anthropomorphically too limited). Suggest however we take the lessons from Avatar movie to heart though before we get busy in outer space.
