Summer of love, alone
posted August 9th, 2020 at 1:25 PM
I've spent most of my free time the past few months taking gentle doses of mushrooms and going off on lesser-known trails to hike and run my way through the mountains alone all day. I make pits stops at secret waterfalls and swimming holes to cool off with skinny dipping. It's been the most effective form of therapy I've ever done. I no longer have that persistent rain cloud hanging over my head when I wake up every morning. I am grounded and powerful in my femininity and body in a way I never have before, completely removed from the petty stress of having interact with people who just drain my energy, and fully in love with life. I never want this summer to end.

I wish I had thought of this along time ago, although I'd rather be doing those things with a favorite friend or any positive friend. Who wouldn't see doing that as a hippie reboot and a yesterday no good for today activity. I know 100% what you mean about the energy my god man everyone around me is so steep in a vibe of negativity that is so draining, I'm unable to sleep, think or care about anything at times so I run from it. Now I think I'll try something a little different for sure thank you!

Mushrooms are very easy to grow. Google "grow mushrooms" and you should find all you need to know. For a $100 or so investment you can have ounces and ounces of mushrooms. My last crop was about 2.5 ounces, and that was just because after I got that many I decided to chuck the substrate they were growing from, because I had enough.
I can recommended (have used for years) "the spore lab" (BC-based) for spores. And the spores are not illegal.
I suggest that rather than messing around with brown rice flour, colonize brown rice in 1 pint jars so that you can break it up and do a tub easily. Just read enough stuff until that makes sense.
Growing mushrooms is fun, and, depending on who you know, they can cost up to $150/ounce---once you've done the first go-round, all you need to buy to produce ounces of mushrooms is a bag of brown rice and some coco coir or something.
The Straight should really do an article about growing mushrooms, or is that too 'edgy'?

@? - There are many online dispensaries based in Vancouver where you can get your order within a couple days!
@omfg - Do it! My friends mostly turn their noses up at psychedelics as something stupid kids do to get fucked up. So it's my little secret and my expeditions remain (joyously) solo.
@my type - If you run into a ponytailed brunette with a purple and yellow running pack and obnoxiously bright socks traipsing around the backcountry, do say hello :-)
