It is usually older people who use this term, but I've only recently started hearing it often enough for it to give me the shivers

Every once in a while someone tries to make a new "thing" that's just awful. Like the phrase "cover off" years ago used by corporate wannabes. Ugh. It sounded stupid then coming out of the mouths of uncertain business types and worse now. Learn grammar, stay in school.
