heart beats

Only seen my love interest for a few brief moments, felt my heart swell.downtown...harbour center around 3:30ish pm. You'd think after 5 years of zero nil contact that Id be over you. Still though ....many have tried ...but none of them are you. :)

Welcome to the club. Most of us who have either loved and lost, or loved from afar, have been in your shoes. Eventually, especially if you can turn your mind to someone new, those feelings may fade. However, it’s pretty likely that even if you do, seeing that person may always cause an increase in your heart rate. It’s not necessarily because you’re still in love with them. It could be just the amount of time and mental energy that you’ve spent thinking of them that triggers an emotional response.

To both of you

Don't worry about the timing.
Most relationships end. Even and especially ones with children.
So time is probably on your side.

The truth is when we think about past relationships, or love interests, it's truly just a highlight reel. I Can Only Imagine the types of Glamour, and the amount of glitter dumped on literal turds the time span of five years can provide. When we obsess over a person in this way it is truly just the idea we've created of them. You've put them on this huge pedestal that they could truly never live up to. All this Glitz and Glamour and I don't think you truly knew them enough. You haven't love them through the very ugly moments we all face is people, which is a minimum 80% of the time. I don't think you deserve to obsess over a person in this way, it is simply not fair. I know this is an entirely unpopular opinion but it's an honest one. I think we really love the idea of people, and above that, the idea that we are so romantic in this way. Stop living in the past and start living your life, build something meaningful with the people of today.

I'm not over after 10 years. I doubt I'll be over in another 10. They probably weren't who I imagined them to be even when I "knew" them. Now they definitely aren't. They no longer look much like the person I "knew". They no longer have a life I would be compatible with. I still want them more than anything. They are still my everything. Should I have the misfortune of running into them I'll likely jump in front of a bus. How fucked up.

Instantly fused together in a vast eternal nutshell

only she was on the other side of town at the time. Love can be a conduit to bigger things but it's not the only one. When we're lowered into and become the Earth we rise far above and know everything at the same time: Like how chasing each other on the surface is but a small part of it
