I don’t know why this pisses me off so much. They tell us masks are mandatory but I don’t see their employees wearing them. Bus drivers, sky train attendants(never see masks) and even the transit police. What message does this send to us?

Their union is more powerful than the general public. With that comes freedoms and money.

What do skytrain attendants do anyways? They all just stand around yapping to each other about shit.
Do you take the bus?

The driver's spot is a plastic-encased box. Really not worried.

Same here in Victoria. I took it up with one of their customer relations personnel and was basically given the brush off. Far as I'm concerned, the bus should not move until all passengers are masked, and that includes off duty drivers, supervisors and all Transit employees.
If masks are mandatory, then no driver should be allowed to proceed until everyone is wearing them, with the possible exception of the driver themself, provided that person is safely ensconced behind a vapour barrier.

The same message most major institutions send: rules for thee but not for me.

butt not enforced.
Do you understand how masks work?

They prevent you from exhaling and inhaling the virus. The drivers are behind plastic thus cannot get their exhalations on you nor yours on them.

A woman had forgotten her mask and said she would not get on the bus. The bus driver told her to get on anyway because "it's not legally enforceable". So, basically, do what you want.
