The downvoters are probably bus drivers. Well, thank you for expressing your view and what the public thinks. Transit is too expensive. We already voted that to prove it. Not surprising... but at least they are less powerful given the remote working circumstances.

It's shocking how expensive transit is in Vancouver. I lived in both Tokyo and Seoul and both cities have cheaper transit fares. Sure they move a lot more people, but they have the most unbelievably elaborate subway systems that require far more upkeep than Vancouver's two train lines and collection craptastic buses.
Vancouver rips everyone off here and there for the privilege of living in a rather mediocre city. I'll never get it, but I'm born and raised on the west coast on BC and not from Alberta, Manitoba or Ontario. It must be a serious step up for the people from the provinces, because they keep coming, and they'll continue to be fleeced.
You're a....

I haven't used TransLink since that card system started.
Good for you

You could put that money towards a vehicle and leave that over inflated city for good.
Me too !

Actually bought my last bus pass in April 2019 and got a bicycle instead. The savings are amazing ! Up yours, Translink! Another commenter above mentioned transit in Tokyo and Seoul being far superior and cheaper and I can confirm that. Translink is a fucking joke, I can also confirm that people from the prairies think it’s amazing (I was one of you) but after travelling the world you see how sad the system in Vancouver is.

In Toronto they let children 12 and under ride for FREE on public transit.
Why aren't you Translink ?
Shows who cares about their customers.
And how often do you clean your buses ?
Great!

I was commuting by bus last year. Decided to walk and cycle everywhere now. Y'gotta have the right gear for the rain...but DAMN is it better for my mental and physical health.
