Having a tough time and losing hope

29F and I’ve never had a fulfilling relationship where I’ve felt genuinely cared about. I was single for most of my 20s where I didn’t put the focus on dating. In the last 2 years I’ve made more effort on dating apps and would initiate chats and dates but couldn’t find anyone willing to commit or show any real interest. Really feeling like I’ll be single forever and I don’t know what I’m doing wrong. I’m friendly, caring, and put effort into my physical appearance but have yet to find anyone who cares about me even half as much as I care about them :( not sure if ranting or looking for advice but here I am

Maybe you can't get commitment from anyone because it's your destiny to be part of my harem.

Don't the ones who wish for such things never find themselves anywhere truly meaningful. You seemed destined to understand meaningful! :-)

Maybe the reason you can't meet anyone is because you take everything too seriously and don't know a joke when you see one.

hmm...

first off, why did you wait so long?...nvm lets not get into that, just know that your options in your early 20s won't exactly be the same in your late 20s and early 30s

Single is good

Question to Op

You say you were single most of your 20's... Can I ask why? Were you doing the "I'm working on my education and/or career and I'll date later" type of thing?

I was focused on school and work and was also trying to work on myself as a person. In previous relationships I tended to lose myself a bit so I wanted to really find who I am and be someone that people want to be with. I’m also pretty bad with rejection and was dealing with some self-esteem issues so I figured it’s better to not try. I sort of regret not getting out there more and just getting more used to heartbreak but at the same time my experiences in my early 20s are still very similar in my late 20s so I don’t think I’ve missed much!
