I’m so tired

of hearing about European countries with sizeable Covid rates banning other countries’ citizens as if somehow It’s the others that are ultimately dangerous. Unless you’re talking about an American sized outbreak, you all have comparable numbers!! Canada has way lower numbers than any country in the EU but was recently banned from visiting there! Pointing the finger isn’t going to solve anything. It’s sad that so many don’t understand this is a global problem!

The last thing anyone in October 2020 needs is planeloads of Canadians. EU nations and of course Britain have no need for you right now.

Your arrogance in the 2020 New World Reality™ is startling.

Whoa! Did I say I planned to go there??? They are allowing people from China, Uruguay, and 6 other countries with higher numbers than Canada. We have not banned them. You are the arrogant/ignorant one! This kind of indiscriminate banning while showing favouritism to other nations with worse numbers only leads to problems. Read properly before commenting!!

You haven’t thought that through.

What the?

This is not the time for ANYONE to be traveling unless it’s absolutely necessary. Especially to foreign countries! I don’t want tourists coming here and I can’t imagine why any other country would want them either, regardless of where they’re from. Thanks to the idiots here in Canada who became so complacent or who are so inconsiderate that they didn’t bother taking precautions in the first place, our infection rates are skyrocketing. What a bunch of whiny babies so many people are nowadays. Grow the f*** up and deal with it. Unless people smarten up, this situation is going to drag on and on.

You would think that if the OP understood that this was a global problem, they wouldn't want to engage in risky behaviour like travelling overseas and unnecessarily coming into contact with a number of people outside their bubble.

Ugh, stuck in Vancouver for winter. What a nightmare.

Has a valid point. The blame game helps no one. I didn’t read that as a complaint they can’t travel, but rather as a complaint that everyone is trying to blame others for spreading Covid when it’s everywhere.

Canadians seem to think wherever they go that people just naturally break out into a smile - from experience it's not quite like that.

Dream on, children.

Like when the hurricanes happened a few years ago, people moaned about no vacation spots.

Yeah that doesn’t seem right

Cases there are indeed higher there than here. I didn’t get the decision from the EU either. And yes the time is not right for vacations en masse but what about people needing to visit their family for urgent reasons or other valid trips? I heard that flights to EU are basically empty so I don’t think they need to fear lotsa Canadians going. But picking those other countries over Canada...
