Lonely Wife

My husband is always working late and having “drinks” with the guys til late. He avoids me on the weekend and talks about this (younger) woman at the office like she’s the best thing ever. Looks like I’m headed for a divorce. Y’know when you just know?

Make sure

that you act now because otherwise, if you let it slide for too long, he could start messing with all the money and assets so you can’t get anything. This happened to a friend of mine. She kept holding out in the hopes the marriage might work out, meanwhile her husband was transferring all the assets into corporate and offshore and then she found out and realized she was totally screwed!! Also if you put up with it for too long it will make you look like you didn’t really object to certain things. Swift action required if you feel the big D coming on!!

Is your hubby

He might just be trying to make you "step up your game" by making you jealous. It's a dick move for sure.

Your new buddy

To speed things along I would highly recommend going to his work and befriending this "girl". Invite her shopping or for lunch. He should have no problem with this if he's not sleeping with her.

Hes definitely banging the younger chick already

Sounds familiar

Except in my case, the familiarity isn’t from my own marriage, but from my parents’. My father was a notorious cheater. I grew up watching my mother be humiliated time after time, for as long as I lived with them, and long after I became an adult with relationships of my own. Please don’t subject any children to this type of situation. Hopefully you don’t have any yet. If you do, before you make any decisions, please think about the long-term effects that are unavoidable for them if they have to witness this. Trust me, kids know a lot more than adults think they do.

There are always two sides. But he does sound like a parasite... or do you think this confession will somehow be used as evidence? He should review his banking with a fine tooth comb. Maybe you’re the actual parasite looking for an excuse to take the money and run. Divorce stories are bone chilling.

Has he suddenly taken more care in his appearance as well?

Also a tell-tale sign.

The moment I knew was when he said (about his much younger employee), "She just reminds me so much of you when you were her age...!"

I don't know who was more stupid: him for saying something SO EXTREMELY OBVIOUS, or me, for not picking up on it straight away.

The heart wants what the heart wants - - and hopefully yours will want to be far, far away from his cheating and scheming ways before he decides to bail. Most people won't leave the security of marriage until they have someone's arms to run into.

If you gotta do what you gotta do, then all you can do is move forward with your head held high, and make the best of it.

I hate it when people say that someone won’t leave one relationship unless they have another lined up. It’s simply not true for many, many people! I have personally broken up several times and not once was it because I had someone else. Two of those relationships were marriages, and a couple of others were quite long term and serious. I know lots of women who left relationships because they weren’t working, and not because of another person in the wings.
