Tonights conversation with friendsposted October 12th, 2020 at 9:35 PM I let all unknown calls go to voice mail. If we all do this then we could beat the scammers. At least with landlines and answering machines you can screen the calls while the person is leaving a message (or not) and quickly pick up the phone if it's someone you know.If someone calls (cel or landline) and I don't recognize the number (or there is no number) I just pick up the phone but don't say anything. If it's a sale/scam they either don't say anything because you haven't caused the call to go thru hy saying "hello" and the call gets dropped (they don't want to pay the long distance) or there is a pause then a click that tell's you it's a long distance sale/scam call and someone starts saying "hello? hello??" in a very not-Canadian/not-NorthAmerican accent and then it's up to you whether you want to speak with them, hang up, or just not say anything and wait for them to hang up first. ExactlyOct 13, 2020 at 9:52amThat's how it rolls. If someone can't be seen on caller ID, so sad too bad. I never, ever pick up if I don't know who it is. Same hereOct 13, 2020 at 12:50pmWhy should I take a call from someone who won't identify themselves?I also wouldn't answer my door if, when I look through the peephole, I can see that the person is hiding their face... MehOct 13, 2020 at 8:37pmThey just fill up my voicemail Block themOct 15, 2020 at 11:44amOn your cellphone. They use fake numbers anyways, and you can block by area code. Most nowadays come out of a New York area code, and I'm not expecting anyone to call from New York,so they're blocked and have stopped Join the Discussion Your name Comment * your name What's your name?
