When I lived

in Europe I got tired of dressing up all the time and the way people are judged constantly on their clothes. I think it’s great that in Vancouver, there is more emphasis on health and wellness and being comfortable in nature than how people are dressed. This I would not want to change.

If you’re going to dress like you just crawled out of a ditch, at least have some style. And by style I don’t mean yoga gear.
Ignore the haters OP

And thank you for posting this in response to the people who post complaining about our clothing style.

Sweatpants are for the couch. They pretty much spell out that you’ve given up on life if you wear them out anywhere.

You obviously haven't developed a belly.
I used to always wear jeans, but after my belly grew, they became uncomfortable. Even stretch jeans were no good.
Now I wear nice sweat pants and talking with others whose guts have grown agreed that sweat pants are so much more comfortable.

A gut isn’t a life sentence. Maybe do something about that so you don’t have to dress like you’ve given up because clearly you have.
Interesting

I had to cancel a trip to Europe due to Covid. I've never been off the continent, getting older, last chances and all. But I was kind of excited about dressing up for a change, especially in Russia, one of the places I was headed. I see the young city women really go for it there (It's like a phenomena). Here I work outdoors a lot (rural area), live in paint covered yoga pants, Gortex coats, gumboots and a toque. Now I don't even cut my hair. Eesh.

For some of us it sure seems like it as diet & exercise don't work.
And I haven't given up on life because I have a belly. I just choose not to let superficiality dictate my life. But if you choose to, that's fine, just keep your judgmental attitude to yourself.
ummmmmmm

Vancouver people will judge you hard on being on trend (in yoga wear) and for what brands you wear, whether it's this season or last. Don't let yourself make the mistake of believing we are any less judgmental.

Diet and exercise actually do work. You’re doing it wrong. I don’t care if you want to wear sweatpants but it sends a particular message out there whether you care what others think or not.
