Wishing Vancouver had a little style

I wish people in Vancouver tried more when it comes to dressing nicely. Whenever I have friends and family visiting me they always remark about how everyone here wears black and grey. Vancouver is a sea of Blundstones and Rains jackets!

I know how you feel.....in a city full of grey,it would be great to see colour.I find in general(after living in many cities)people here seem very apathetic when it comes to how they look.

Sorry! Let us know next time they are visiting, so we can dress accordingly so as not to embarrass you in front of your family and friends.

I like dark blue/gray/black and fleece and rainproof gear. It's necessary here.
I'm sure if it was more sunny, you'd see more colour clothing.

Why not worry about more about the lack of facilities here in the city.
What a joke and the degrading ruins of whats left of the city to embarrass you.
Its a bloody mess everywhere.
No one upkeeps anything.
Piss and shit in the streets.
Washrooms are like unicorns.
No garabage cans anywhere.
Tourists City ! What a joke.
Just keep looking at the mountains.

I actually don't mind that everyone dresses in shades of grey and Goretex. I try to dress well and add a bit of colour or something unique to my outfit. Because I stand out, it's the only way I can get anyone to look my way.

Thank you!
I didn't know about Sapeur culture until I saw your posting and decided to look up what Sapeur meant.
It's as fun as learning about the Harajuku culture.

Vancouverites are nudists who wear sweats sometimes.
