All this love and no one to give it to

Other than dating in Jan/Feb and then a very little bit in the summer, I’ve been single this whole year. I hate not knowing how long it will be until I can actually start dating (safely) for real again. I’ve been single for almost all of my 20s so it’s not that I’m the type that needs to be in a relationship. I’ve just found myself pretty lonely these days. I know I’m a good girlfriend and I really put my all in being supportive and loving. I’ve never been able to find someone that cares about me in return but I’m really looking forward to the day I do.

Get used to it!! Don’t assume your life will be better with a man in it. Biggest lie told to young women everywhere.

True that sister. I had a man in my life. Was the best decision to cut him out. Now I'm a Wo.

I spent most of the spring and summer trying to find someone special to share this winter with. Just one person.

They're just bitter, love is important and will be worth waiting for. It has to be I mean I'm pot committed now.

But it’s also a huge let down for most of us. Hate to break it to you.

she never said she would be validated by being in love, just that she wanted to meet someone. That this year especially has made being alone incredibly hard. That she wanted to be lucky enough to be in love, to fall in love. Maybe in your past you made the mistake you speak of, and faltered your personal worth into a man’s hands but that’s not what this post is about.
@All this love is merely confessing about the loneliness of covid. She literally says, ‘I’ve been single most of my twenties’. Gotta love the giant projections that are GS Confession replies.

To the OP, I hear and understand you. The first three weeks of covid dovetailed my last relationship. Ever since, even coffee shop flirting hasn’t felt the same and we wonder if and when things will return to some form of normality.

Here’s hoping those of us who haven’t become completely jaded or judgmental find someone special one of these days. You’re not alone so hang in there.

I was almost always in a relationship

during my 20s and I really regret it.
I wish instead that I had just dated casually and travelled and gone to uni.
The first responder is correct. We've been fed lies with all those bullshit "happily ever after" stories they read to us as little girls.
My life has been happier and peaceful being single.

Don’t worry

Your twenties are a decade worth dedicating to yourself. You do a lot of growing in those years and are a completely different person by the time you reach 30. Most relationships fail during those years and marriages try to hang on through their thirties and fail. You simply grow apart. Some of them last but it’s rare. Give yourself a pat on the back for trying. I’m sure you’ll meet a good one soon. For now, stay strong and read some good books.

Same thing for guys and getting married, but it's even more of a raw deal.
