The expense of being single

Decided to take a peek at the real estate market and what I can reasonably afford on my own (not much) vs. what I could afford with a partner with around the same income. The difference is crazy. Now I really wish I was married.

Sometimes marriage is more expensive

Plus even most married people in Van can't afford a place.

A dual income is mandatory these days to live a comfortable middle class lifestyle unfortunately, especially in Vancouver. My girlfriend and I have talked about marriage and what excites us the most is the prospect of combining our incomes to afford a decent place. But before I met her I knew exactly you feel. I hope you find someone (or win the lottery).

Don’t wish to be married for the stuff. It doesn’t fulfill anything. Sometimes a partner comes with a whole lot more crap that’s more burdensome than having a smaller place.

What if you bought a place with your best friend since forever, instead of with a partner you will love 5 to 7 years and then break up with?

holla

I was thinking of getting married just out of economic necessity for both of us LOL

If you can find the right person...

Being married is awesome. We still can’t afford to buy a place in Vancouver, though. But we can rent a very nice two-bedroom condo. If I was single, I’d be living in a crummy one-bedroom.

Check out the prices for docking, and how long (years) the waiting list to get into them is in Vancouver.
And you know what the acronym for boat is?
