Spidey Sense

Bad things are a happening. I live in a building near a bunch of other apartment buildings. The number of people I see moving out this month has skyrocketed. I hope it just a coincidence, but I worry this might the start of a new wave of homelessness and poverty.

You should be celebrating. Aside from greedy, bloodsucking landlords there is no one who suffers when there are surplus homes to rent.
The problem is, is when too many rats are fighting over a same sized piece of land.

This is a (hopefully) once-in-a-lifetime calamity. You haven't seen but a fraction of the consequences yet.
Reckoning was deferred but the bill must be paid. In suffering, certainly, but maybe not in blood. Still time to avoid that, and we may get a reprieve. But the next couple of months may suck pretty bad.
We'll see.

If it's couples that are moving out, then it's very likely that they are moving to a bigger home -- perhaps a small house or townhouse in the 'burbs with a yard. Easier to socially distance with friends over for dinner on the outdoor patio. Maybe also room for an addition to the family to play in?? With many couples spending more quality time and getting frisky, the pandemic is setting up just the right conditions for a baby boom of sorts. So, probably nothing to worry about at all. Maybe try keeping your spidey senses to yourself and minding your own business, eh?

But I really hope fly on wall are the EXTREMELY nosy nightmare neighbours in my building! I'd be happy for them and to see them fly away :D

One of the effects of covid has been a migration from cities. My neighbor across the alleyway has been screaming at her husband for the last 9 months about how they should have moved when she wanted to...
