Summer and fall

Without fail I get a brutal cold every year. Or twice. Transit plus working in homeless shelters where the staff and clients keep passing it back and forth. I’ve never felt better this year. I’m wondering if I should always wear a mask on transit and work from now on?

I have been saying this since May, once we start interacting together we will be back to getting colds and flus again.
Just like sending a kid to kindergarten.

Sure, works for the Japanese. Protect yourself from catching one and others from catching your cold. Not to mention, it can help reduce spring allergies to pollen. I hope mask become the normal in a post COVID-19 world.

have you been living under a rock?
...masks are required on transit
and you work in shelters...
you should have been wearing a mask during both of these things for MOST of the year.

wow... just wow.

People always look at asians funny for doing it but there’s a good reason for it.

Have been wearing a mask since February. That’s why I’m not sick. Read again??

Transit is more dangerous than hanging out in a hospital waiting area. And more dangerous than them both is a classroom.

You're going to be a germaphobe and destroy your own immune system so when the mad evil scientists release something that's really deadly, you'll end up as one of the initial statistics.

Just wash your hands all the time. I started washing my hands the minute I came home, years ago. Ever since I got into that habit, the number of colds or flu I’ve had has shrunken to almost none. I used to catch everything going, but not now. Masks are good for situations like this, but for normal times I think it’s the hand washing that’s the best bet.

This is the first year that I haven't gotten sick once. Not so much as the sniffles. All the mask wearing and hand sanitizing has done wonders. It's the one thing about the covid crisis I'm down with.

Same, used to get sick twice every winter.
Then stopped using transit 10 years ago and haven't had a cold since...
