Teenage Wasteland

I’m in love with a 41 year old man who treats life like a giant high school. Not in a good way. There was nothing good about high school. I must be in the special class.

Mitigates whiplash and head injuries.
Your heart, in the other hand...too late to limit the damage to that.

friends who are still mentally in high school, its all they talk about. I think "remember when.." is the lowest from of conversation.

What if it's a Rock N Roll Highschool?! That would be so awesome!

Mine’s a couple years younger than yours but it sounds the same. I even have to suffer through teen dramas on Netflix. I tune out and watch what I want when I’m home alone.

I had to let go of a friendship with someone I went to high school with. That person always bitched about people he couldn’t stand and just wouldn’t let go of his past. It got too exhausting and depressing to hear the same garbage repeated to death, so I left him alone. He’s now cut completely out of my life. Peace of mind ever since. You can’t change the past. It’s good to move on. Even if you miss part of your past, you still have to carry on.

I agree 100 percent with you. I find that that people who are still stuck in the past clearly have no life. Just tell your friends that the past is no longer relevant and you do not want to talk about it anymore. Be straight forward with them.

is long gone. Tell your man to stop living in the past and appreciate the present. I don’t think he realizes that he has a good thing going with you. You don’t know what you got until you lose it. Either shape up or ship out.
