They are training wheels for people who don't normally cook. And they have a role to play, an important role for those who did not learn from childhood (or James Barber in the Georgia Straight). But they seem quite expensive and if you don't need them, cool.
Same here

Kind of bland?
Don't feel bad, they do that as a promo. Seems expensive and designed for people who can't cook for themselves.
Definitely!

I’m astounded at how popular these things have become. I know someone who used them for a few months and I couldn’t believe how much plastic they accumulated in that time. It’s unbelievable how awful for the environment those kits are. They’re ridiculously expensive, and one could do exactly the same thing by reading a recipe and going shopping. As a woman who worked full time while raising a big family, I think these services are for people who are too damned lazy to put in some effort. Sure, it’s not easy to shop and cook even when you’re working, but lots of us have done it and lived to tell the tale. Grow a set people.
Wow.

I can’t help but think they don’t know how to cook! Also all that extra packaging is ridiculous-I have a friend how wouldn’t stop talking about how great they are and so she sent me the link to the free one but I never activated it since I didn’t see the point. One of the selling points to her was that the spices were all measured out, she said to me “who has cumin in their cupboard?” And I couldn’t help but think Me, I have cumin in my cupboard lol!
