Alcohol really is the worst drug

Ive been a drunk and an addict at various points in life. Thankfully I have been clean for almost 20 years now. I understand the need to get f-ed up. I really do. I think being so aware of ourselves and being such conscious beings is really hard on the mind and spirit. But I hate that alcohol is so popular and avail. Its one of the worst drugs out there and very few drugs make people as stupid and ignorant than alcohol. Ive been on heroin, and crack, and I NEVER cornered people and made them listen to my dumb theories and favorite music lyrics. I NEVER hopped in a car and drove home from the heroin club. How many families and marriages and lives has it destroyed? Too many.

Sugar? Yeah. It’s bad in excess. Like anything... it’s kind of hilarious The Healing Center and Dank Mart are in the same building. Thank god there’s a pharmacy right next door that does diabetes testing every Monday. Seems like a conflict of health interest. Clowns.

Net-search the root words in Alcohol

From the ancient pre-Aramaic language: 'al' (or el) translates as 'Spirit'. And 'Cohol / Ghoul' translates as vampire. Thus the word alcohol translates as 'Life Sucking Spirit'. No good ever comes of it. Many caught on that dark shadow hook have found help in A.A. Others find help from the real-deal Indigenous Elders ... ps: the real-deal never advertise their service nor put a price tag on it. Go there.

Booze is a slippery one

It's fun for maybe the first 4 or 5 beers then descends into dumbness. Yet who can hit the brakes and go home in the middle of the ride?

Good on you

As the ex-girlfriend of an alcoholic, I applaud you, not only for quitting but your awareness. The booze destroyed our relationship and I hate it for that.

I once believed that too. Until I finally figured out that he was using the drinking as an excuse to be abusive. Once I clued in and called him out on it, the abuse lessened considerably. At the same time I realized that nothing that was taking place had anything to do with me. I wasn’t the first woman he beat up, and I wasn’t the last. Yes he was an alcoholic, and yes he had a difficult childhood with a lot of trauma. But so did I, and I didn’t abuse other people because of it. The fact is that people use a number of different methods to soothe their anxiety, and sometimes it’s self-medicating with alcohol. Alcohol loosens inhibition and allows someone with a lot of rage to let it loose and then blame the alcohol rather than take accountability for their own choices. I feel badly for anyone trying to cope with any addiction, but please remember that your primary duty is to take care of yourself. If you don’t, you’re no good for anyone else.
