I don't want the Astra vaccine

I want 95% protection, not 65%. Imagine if it was a condom? Do you think we'd be okay with someone saying "some protection is better than none"? That so-called reassurance comes from people who have the 95%, so what do they care? I'm freaking out. I want my 95%. I want to make sure I'm safe, not "maybe".

Don’t be....

...a Covidummy....while the coverage is only 65%, the death rate is ZERO, and hospitalization nearly the same. Get the first jab that comes along.

Well, sure

Who wouldn’t prefer the best option? But if the choice is between no vaccine and one that’s not as effective as the other, then I’m taking whatever I can get!

Go to bed. Pull the blankets over your head. Don't emerge until 2022. 100% safe.

You're "out"?

So you'd rather nothing? 65% is actually really high for a vaccine, the mRNA ones are unusual in that they're so high, but also, it's not actually something you can easily compare because they're not measured the same.

The AZ will still protect you from dying even if you do happen to still get COVID.

Agree 100%

These so called experts are trying to convince people that all the approved vaccines are equally good and that we mere mortals should accept them all without question. The Oxford developed shot has too many questions surrounding it and its significantly lower protection levels would lead me to not accepting this vaccine. When I go for my vaccine this summer and they offer me the Oxford shot I will say no thanks and try again at a later date when I'm offered a vaccine I have confidence in accepting.

Listen to Dr. Fauci...

...take the first jab you can.

I'll never take them.

As far as I'm concerned if they won't be held liable should something go wrong in taking it then they can't be very confident about their product and they're foreseeing problems with it.

Beats having nothing

I'd take it. With the second dose, it's supposed to become around 90 percent effective over time.
There's a "vesting period" of 6-12 weeks after the first dose, and that's only assuming you get the second one. Also depends on one's genetics and health condition, anyway.

Would rather the Sputnik like my aunts are getting, or the JnJ one-shot. But anything that decreases my odds of requiring intubation would be great, even by just half.

You're missing the point. You won't be one person vaccinated in a sea of unvaccinated people (in which case yeah, the 95% coverage is obviously better). You'll be one of many vaccinated people, and even if all of those people got the AstraZeneca vaccine, the virus won't be able to spread and will eventually die out. Stop thinking of just yourself and look at the bigger picture.

Do you
