At least you have six people. Just me and this parent. And most ppl probably think I'm the one who she's supporting. I've taken her to hospital about 4x in the last 5 years, each time would have been fatal, each time she insisted she did not need to go, or did not have the appropriate "blood pressure 69/50, that's too low!" Even afterward, there was no recognition of "gee, I was out of it, I didn't recognize my blood pressure was too low!"

So, I get to stick around and do this every six months or so, and in the meantime I am screamed at like the "worthless domestic help" in some Victorian period piece. It's a lot of fun.

I felt so bad for him. Blamed for everything. He didn't get his self worth or dignity back until he moved thousands of miles away. Family members would come to visit 20 years later and be dumbfounded to see he actually made a life for himself.

And, of course, she took care of me when I was a screaming baby, so it's not that I won't do it, but, jeez is it hard somtimes!
