Wag the dog

I see these animal rescue stories on my feed about rehabilitating dogs which are sooo heartwarming...they serve as a mirror of my hopes and dreams. I wish I could get my tail wagging again!

My dog died in the fall but I have adopted a new one and it's the best covid hobby.
I have a theory that men adopt female dogs to nurture something and women adopt male dogs to protect themselves to some degree.

It is sooo heart warming helping animals and great strides are taken everyday to save pets from harm and give them a better life.
Why dont we do the same for homeless and less fortunate people too.
That also would be soooo heart warming.

I watch a lot of these rescue stories as well, especially because they are saved. These are the happy endings. But then you start to realize how many animals are out there in trouble, sometimes after natural disasters, but very often tossed, abandoned and left to die. It's heartbreaking and hard to fathom.

Because animals aren't as complicated. They just want to live. Humans have a load of psychological impediments and systemic barriers to recovery. But don't forget about the people who are out there working for the homeless every day. It's not like there is no one at all caring and trying to save.

Typical knee Jerk response to something innocent and positive. Anti social media at its best
