Why is it?

I mention something to others that has a negative impact for us but no one seems to want to listen to me. Weeks to months later another party in the group finally realizes what I tried to tell them and that person gets more attention about the subject than I did in the past. I don't understand. If you would have listened to me this would not have gone on any longer. Why do I get ignored?

They don’t trust you... or respect you. If it’s the latter get the heck outta there. They’ll end up with the regret

Maybe they know your prophecies usually turn out to be correct and don’t like what they’re hearing. So they ignore what you’re saying. But don’t waste your energy on them then. Take what you know and decide how you will act on it. Not your job to save everyone else.

Perhaps you sensed what was wrong before others were ready to see the truth.

Look it up. An actual thing. Also, personal experience.
There's a Russian version that goes "there are no prophets among one's own people" meaning the oracle must always reside elsewhere.
Finally, nobody likes clever except in themselves. One becomes accustomed to keeping it shut. No use telling people things they hate to hear.

I've reached a point where, unless there's a clear profit to others that would almost certainly drive them to do something, I just take my own advice.
Care about others but know that familiarity breeds neglect. It is the human way.

Perhaps you just need to work on your delivery. I know I've had to work on mine.

Where do you find more stuff like what you mentioned? Familiarity breeds neglect. That’s brilliant! I guess to some it might be obvious... but I just learned something pretty potent right there. Thanks :)

This happens to me ALL THE TIME in work situations. I'll say something in meetings and everyone will ignore it. Then sometime later - and often during the same meeting - someone else will say the exact same thing and everyone will agree. So I gave up on that, and now I put my ideas in writing.

You knew Moe was the leader when you came aboard. Don't start going all "bebebebebebebe" now

This is the reason all the real comedians left Cali for Austin, Texas. Saying goodbye to Hollywood and all these hack boardroom members who take your original work and smear their greasy foreheads on your material. Then they want a cut? This is a painful time for almost everyone... but it’s a chance for us all to reconsider going solo... ish. Hang up the self-important suits. They’re hacks and they know it. No need to say it to their face. Just focus on you and in time they’ll have disappeared.

Prego. Glad to be of service.
The original saying was "familiarity breeds contempt". Thought that was misleading and poorly worded because too strong. Neglect more accurate.
Another one you might like, an Italian quote - "truth has few friends, and all are suicides".

Can't recommend my approach. That's how one becomes a Cassandra.
The "nothing new under the sun" thing is mostly true - past is prolongue and it rhymes with the future. History is imperfect but still useful and relevant as parable. The more one reads, the more patterns one sees. Makes for an uneven life.
Caffeine is the one vice I have left, and most of my free waking hours are spent reading. There aren't that many like-minded people, anywhere. Someone called me "mister knowledge" a couple of days ago. I told him I'm just a dude with funny ideas.
Good luck with your journey, wherever it takes you. May the winds be ever at your back.
