It will be fun for the first hour and then downhill from there. If I did that I know I would end up drunk for 45 days afterwards and wouldnt want to fu$k up all that progress.

Congrats on 45 days. That's rad! Getting sober during covid is no easy feat.
I'm at 43 days. I get those cravings too, but the lack of a hangover is waaaaaay better. I think we all need to transcend somehow (checking out of life in order to check back in). Many of us do it through substances...but music (the music YOU love) can be pretty transcendental on its own.
I often worry that I'm losing my edge by not drinking, but then I realize that the choice to not drink is actually pretty fuckin bad-ass. Sobriety requires buttloads of mental focus, confidence, and mindfulness. Not to mention the compassion and patience it takes to not judge friends, family, co-workers, and strangers that continue to consume the substance you're working so hard to NOT consume.
I wish you strength, solidarity, and a new album from your favourite band (with really good headphones). Good luck fellow sober person.

I’m an alcoholic. A week sober. One beer is pouring napalm on your gut flora. Takes months of sobriety to get those little guys back. Also, I never tell anyone of my progress. I’m going to be selfish when it comes to my own sobriety. Good stuff! Don’t drink. Or drink. Up is down. Left is East. Reverse psychology.

Check out the NYC punk band Show Me The Body. Terrible name for a band but a relatively fresh new sound. Also, check out ...And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead. They're a timeless indie/punk outfit from Austin Texas.

Good for you, I have been sober for 15 months now, don't give in....I play piano and guitar and sing; and trust me there are many times I just want to get high when I play but I know it's not worth it. Eventually the music takes over and I feel higher than ever and play for 4hrs.....crank the music and just enjoy it; and no feeling crappy the next day!!
