In high school I was trying to impress a girl with a poem I "wrote." Well, she knew lots of poems and the one I plagiarized she knew already. I didn't get anywhere with her after that. Ah well

Don’t tell them. They always catch up with you.

I did the opposite

When I was 18 I wrote a cringey but original epic poem to an ex who dumped me after the first time we had sex.

It worked in winning him back but then we became an enmeshed, toxic, and exhausting couple for the next two years.

I probably should have just plagiarized something, taken the L, and saved us both some time. C’est la vie.

Could parse a pentameter
Quail a quatrain
Hit the till
Ring the bill
Never spill a sip
