A lot of people are disappointing.

Covid has taught me that people will fuck you over for a roll of toilet paper. They can be nice and thoughtful and kind but as the pandemic starts to end they are returning to “normal”; bitter, critical assholes, putting some serious hard labor into looking for the tiniest flaw to get over-angry about.

I found a lot of people are more toxic than ever due to the stress of the pandemic. I'd rather hang out with my cool kitty than deal with friend's toxic baloney.

Yup had some unfortunate experiences since covid19 with hyper critical bitter jerks, kinda before then steadily worsening over time. People never really change. "Believe them the first time". It's hard to believe it though how some people spend their time, committed to do intentional harm. It brought out the worst in some but in reality only exposed what was already there. Focusing now on the relationships and people who are committed to being and doing their best.

People are and will always be driven by similar motives of selfishly-driven greed, avarice etc.

Oh people do change...at least physically. The key apparently is to not have kids. Be best!

“It brought out the worst in some but in reality only exposed what was already there.”

The pandemic has given me the time to stop and actually notice it though. For that, I am grateful.

Was fired from my job of nearly 5 years for "no reason" after refusing unsafe work and mentioning unions and sick days. Was fired by someone I considered a friend and regularly confided in as I separated and divorced an abusive partner over the pandemic. I was asked to take my unpaid holidays so the company could hire my replacement and give everyone else a raise. They had me train the scab, who was also a "friend." That scab was the last person I have hugged or have had any physical contact with. It's been a while now and only one person has contacted me from that job and it was to mock me. I was always generous and kind to everyone with very few people that disliked me. So yeah, in my experience people really suck.

Haha

The negative declarations and assumptions.
Actually, yes, some people don't change, but there are plenty who do. Whether by traumatic events or a mind-opening experience with a powerful entheogen and/or discussion with a counsellor/psychologic/guru/etc.
Yes, there are some greedy people, but there are also plenty of people who aren't because they're content with what they have or are anti-materialistic.
But if it makes you happy to think and state "People are ...." like ALL people are whatever shitty way you're describing them, so be it.

“Karens”

This is a stupid meme that needs to end. There are many legitimate reasons for someone to complain about something, and it’s become far too easy to try to dismiss a person’s concerns by labeling them a “Karen”. As if it’s only white women who complain. As every one of their complaints is baseless. As for hypercritical jerks, sure, there are plenty of them. There’s also plenty of asshats running around who deserve to be criticized. As a white woman I know that if I dare to speak out about ignorant behaviour or terrible service or what have you (like people who refuse to social distance in stores, etc), I’m setting myself up for being called a Karen. I’m going to keep speaking out anyway, no matter how hard you try to silence me.
