Almost all of us are anxious. At least to some degree. I know I certainly am.

Hopes, dreams are relatively easy. Taking chances, risks is harder.

I wish you luck.

Might some of this blockage be caused by factors outside of your anxiety?

I only ask because a lot of people who identify as self-sabotagers are actually being sabotaged by other people or the system, while the latter tend to point the finger.

Don’t get me wrong; it’s important to do the inner work, see clearly our own baggage and trauma, and realize that we can only control our own actions.

However, it’s also important to recognize when the problem is not in fact us and when we need to walk away from that which is holding us back and killing our soul.

I understand this, as I am discovering the same things about how anxiety has limited my potential in life. CBT and therapy have all helped, as well as CBD oil. Consider medication as well... it will likely be a trial and error process, but there are drugs that work. I want you to know that it's not too late to make a change and seek help. Anxiety is treatable and your quality of life will improve immensely. All the best to you!

but years ago a good hearted very wise Elder counselled me: "You wouldn't believe the crazy thoughts that go through me mind sometimes too, but; Don't resist and fight force with force. Simply turn to the side, deflect the negative and keep moving forward. Always keep moving forward." ... This elder RIP had never even heard of the Ti Chi teachings of China, that teach the same basic life skills, but truth is truth amongst all peoples ........ OCM Coast Salish Sto:lo salutations

That's what constant and never ending child abuse, of all kinds, did to me. Thirty five years of crappy jobs, no girlfriend ever, and poverty. Oh well, at least I never got into drugs and alcohol.
This, from a guy that's tested 140+ IQ several times.

@Viewfinder -- that is so well put. And accurate.

@Me too -- re "try [psychiatric] medication"; I really wouldn't recommend recommending that to anyone. It seems like a minority of people are genuinely helped by "antidepressants", while a fairly large number of people are actually severely harmed by them, especially over the long term. I cannot even count the number of times I have read real-life stories from people (as well as heard them directly in person, in real life) who were put on psychiatric drugs (whether intentionally sought out themselves, or tragically and very often, through violent force, which psychiatry specializes in unethically using), and who then for example literally had manic delusional episodes occur as a direct result of long-term (or shorter term) "antidepressant" use. And who then had the psychiatric drug-induced extreme altered states and behaviors psychiatrically misinterpreted as "underlying mental illness" and were put on a host of other psych drugs by force, which caused their bodies to degrade and become dis-eased over time ("side-effects"), induced agony and suffering in them, drained all of their energy, caused extreme weight gain/diabetes, caused MORE drug-induced psychosis (through exposure, changing-of, and/or withdrawal-from), and have even caused suicide.

The above tragedies happen to millions of people all over the world. **Directly** caused by psychiatry, disinformation, and psychiatric drugs. Yet it virtually always gets blamed on this fictitious phantom called "mental illness" -- which outside of drug effects/withdrawal effects, actual physical brain damage, real neurological conditions that are findable and actual, naturally occurring *temporary* extreme altered states of consciousness and behavior, or extreme/significant trauma/abuse/stress, is literally unfindable, scientifically or socially or physically. Because committees of psychiatrists just made it up, and even after 70+ YEARS of **constantly** looking for "mental illness" physically, they literally cannot find it.
